Uthappa, Rana Shine As KKR Register Third Win Of Season vs RR

0

Earlier, a good bowling display by Kolkata helped them restrict Rajasthan to 160/8 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. After being put in to bat, Rajasthan got off to a cautious start with skipper Ajinkya Rahane and D Arcy Short playing it safe. After the first two overs, Rahane began playing his shots as he hammered Sunil Narine for four consecutive boundaries. However, the RR skipper eventually fell for 36 off 19 balls in the seventh over. Short then started to play the shots as he scored a fighting 44 before getting dismissed by Rana. After his departure, wickets kept falling at regular intervals courtesy some good disciplined bowling display by KKR. Tom Curran bowled well for KKR as he finished with figures of 2-19 while Nitish Rana also took two wickets to restrict the hosts to a below-par total.

Their bowling too has the right balance with the deceptive Narine, the current purple cap holder in the tournament. Wily old horse Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav are capable of weaving a web around any batting side. Pacer Shivam Mavi, who rose to stardom during the recent U-19 World Cup, and Russell provide the medium pace variety to KKR.
